Upon arrival, greet your clients in the stylish reception area where they can enjoy a complimentary, refreshing beverage like chilled water or European espresso, setting the stage for a premium photoshoot experience. You might also welcome them back for a viewing or sales session to present final images, whether on-screen or as matted prints elegantly displayed on the built-in reveal wall shelves.

Renters gain full access to our dedicated hair and makeup/changing room, offering a private and comfortable space for models and clients to prepare and transition between looks with ease. With the historic charm of King Street and the scenic Alexandria waterfront within walking distance, photographers can easily venture out to use the cobblestone streets and well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century architecture as their backdrop.

Studio Features

  • Location: Near the intersection of N Washington St and Queen Street in Old Town Alexandria, VA

  • Size: Approximately 800 sq ft divided into three rooms with 9 ft ceilings: a reception area, a hair and makeup/changing room, and a shooting room.

  • Amenities: Wi-Fi, sound system, 40” television with Apple TV & Roku. A private bathroom is conveniently located just outside the studio door.

  • Backdrops: An extensive collection of canvas backdrops and seamless papers (white, grey, and black) is available for rent.

  • Parking: One off-street parking spot is available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Metered parking is available in front of the studio starting at 10 AM. Additional free street parking is available for up to two hours on the adjacent streets. There is also a parking lot two blocks away located at 517 Cameron St for $2/hr ($10 daily max, $5 evening/weekend max)

  • Full-month rental (available November 2024–January 2025) - $2790/month

  • 8 days per month - $1890 ($236 per day)

  • 5 days per month - $1490 ($298 per day)

  • 3 days per month $990 ($330 per day)

  • Full-day rental - $490/day

  • Hourly rental - $175/hr (2 hr min)

Terms & Conditions

Time: Your booking includes the time needed for setting up, breaking down, and cleaning up. You will not have access to enter the space until your booking start time. You must leave before your booking end time to avoid overtime fees. Overtime fees are charged at 1.5 hours of the original hourly booking fee. We will not extend your booking if you are late.

Time Extensions: Depending on our studio's schedule, you may pay to extend your booking. Please inform us about possible overtime as soon as possible so we can determine if your booking can be extended. Time extensions requested less than 1 hour prior to the start time of the booking will be charged at a 1.5-hourly rate. 

Noise: Music must be kept to a minimum. No loud music can be played and violators will be fined for loud music and quickly asked to exit the premises. Please keep all studio doors closed while utilizing the space.

No Smoke, Smoking, Fire, or Nudity: No open fire or illegal drugs are allowed anywhere in our studio, and guests are prohibited from smoking directly outside of the building. Smoke or fog machines are not allowed. No nudity allowed.

Food: Limited outside catering is allowed [light finger foods]. Chilled water and Nespresso coffee are provided. If outside food is brought in, please make sure any leftovers or trash are taken with you and not left in the studio space.

Furniture: Furniture and decorations may be moved (please ask the studio managers prior to moving anything). All furniture must be returned to the original state and location where it was found. Furniture should not be dragged as it leaves marks on the studio floor, so any heavy furniture (desks, couches, tables, etc.) must be moved by two people. Furniture cannot be removed from the space or building. All furniture needs to be put back from where it was moved in the studio prior to departing the space. 

Damages: Treat our space and equipment with care. You are responsible for any damage caused by yourself or anyone you allow into our studio during your booking. In the event that an item of furniture is stained or damaged, we will send an invoice equivalent to the cleaning or repair cost. Damage or stains caused to any of the furniture in the space will incur a $250+ fee. If an item has to be replaced, the guest will be responsible for the replacement cost of the item. Failure to pay will result in barring from future rental and reporting to hosting site. 

 Security Cameras & Recording Devices: There are three security cameras inside the space that record video and audio. These can be used to communicate with clients during bookings in case any assistance is needed. They are also used to track arrival, departure, and the condition the studio is left in.

Cancellation Policy: Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Cancellations submitted less than 7 days before the Event start time are not refundable. Any Booking made within 30 days before the event start time will only be eligible for a 50% refund of their Booking Price if canceled 7 or more days before the event; otherwise, the Booking will be non-refundable. For multi-day and nonconsecutive-day Bookings, the deadline for cancellation set forth in the applicable cancellation policy shall apply to the Event start time for each day on which the Space is Booked.
